Our Beliefs
Ascend Church is a Bible-based church. That means we believe and practice what is explicitly taught in the Bible. We believe and teach the following:
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and without error. (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 19:7)
There is one God, who is Spirit, and has revealed Himself through the humanity of Jesus Christ. ( Deuteronomy 6:4; John 2:24; 1 Timothy 3:16)
All people have sinned and are in need of salvation. (Romans 3:10, 23)
Salvation is a free gift offered to all people through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4)
When receiving the free gift of salvation, a person will be born again of water and of Spirit. This takes place through repentance (death), water baptism (burial), and the infilling of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). (John 3:3-5; Acts 2:38)
Salvation is a journey marked by a life of on going Spiritual transformation and growth. (Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 6:17-18; 7:1)
God intended for believers to regularly assemble together for edification through prayers, praise, biblical teaching, fellowship, and service. (Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:24-25; Psalm 133)
Jesus will return to the earth to catch away His Church, establish His Kingdom, and judge all of humanity by sentencing them to either eternal life or eternal punishment. (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17; Revelation 20)
